Back Up to Speed?

Finally feeling better  - I would LIKE to go out for a walk - now that's a change!

Still getting/applying for all my freebies & putting the little things in a gift bag in the bedrm - & now I have another little one in the livingrm for when things come in the mail - I am sending off for all sorts of things, so I can make up little gift collections, etc.

I even got some horse treats for a friend who has a horse! And car magazines for a guy I know who likes machinery, etc.

Anybody have a blog or site?  If you go to http://www.nutritionaltree.com/samples/sample-giveaway-main.aspx you can get ja sample of Revitacel Wrinkle & Eye Cream (which they say is worth $20??)

You can actually send for an Absinthe spoon and later get a BOTTLE of it if you post it on the net!  I don't know about that...but if you are interested I think it's on mommysavesbig.com or maybe freestufftimes.com.  I think that they took the wormwood out & changed the formula to make it legal again...

Hoping to unload some more books at another yard sale - they DO move, but slowly & cheaply.  Boy, do I have piles of books!

Our big hard drive has gone on the fritz and we are on the other one we got a bargain on & used up at the beach and turned into our "music" computer for Mark's music...but it's up and running again.

Hope I didn't lose too much stuff! Getting new clip art for you guys to decorate the old blog here...

Nothing much else - except that no matter what your party - you have to admit that this election win sociologically means a lot to a LOT of people.  I remember the end of segregation - and to come to this point - it is amazing.  And we win the respect of most of the world once more.

Other countries shoot each other over such power changes - we just campaign and VOTE - that is really democracy in action & AMAZING.  Good for US!

How are you guys doing?  You have been pretty quiet out there - & this inquiring mind would like to know....

I for one am sure glad the voting is over-- no more commercials! One of my friends said "OK now your guy won-- how come things aren't any better"!! Sheesh!
I have a blog here but have never done much with it--do like some of the craft and recipe tips though. This is the first time I've replied to anyone.

I use to do the online freebie's but now have a toilet tissue shipping box (translation: HUGH box) full of sample size lotions, shampoo's, conditioners, tampon's, kotex, cereal's, pen's, pencil's, soaps...and I could go on and on. I am getting ready to donate them to a local homeless shelter. As soon as I find them, LOL. I was so gung-ho for freebies...use to get them in the mail darn near every day. T-shirts, magazines...of course with the mags you just got one free issue and then had to remember to write cancel on the bill and mail it back to them. half the time I would forget to do that and end up having to pay for a subscription I didn't want. I have found offers for free music however it's not really music I am interested in, books too...same story, they're not really something I would be interested in reading. I've pretty much stopped doing the freebies mainly because I got tired of all the junk mail that accompanies the freebies.

I'm glad you enjoy it so much.

My hubby has complained about all the mail & kids me about the mailman turning on us! But really, I have gotten a lot of useful things lately. Being careful only to get really FREE magazines & cancel any ones that slip thru. Did get a nice book on disasters from Random House. My hubby is reading it now.

Some women in a club I was in also donated those samples to homeless shelters - good idea - I have some rather poor friends I am giving these to directly as gifts. I don't go in much for the music - as it's pop stuff & pass that by.

And my husband the teacher can always find a good home for pens & pencils!

I use the lotions myself to supplement what I use daily, which I think really helps the bottom line in the end, as I don't spend much on such stuff, and my skin seems to like the variety. I have just gotten one t-shirt so far, a black one I like a lot...and I have eaten the cereal and bars and used the coffee samples! (Put them on the coffee mker for hubby to perk in and AM.)
It all makes for nice gifts, too. I had a friend who went on junkets while working for a magazine & had lots of swag - which he gave a gifts to friends. (Fancy lotion from him, too.)

I can't say that I am a pared down minimalist person - but I am thrifty! And as I am not working much, I think that it is my contribution to the household, as it does save us some $....esp. for my personal needs.
