Susan was ill and succumbed (to cancer believe) last year. Her family now runs the site. Yes, we miss her, she was such a nice lady...

Hi, I just found your blog. I recently moved from Dearborn Heights, MI and seniors age 60 and over and the disabled of any age can ride the Smart bus and use their curb service bus for free.
Eton senior center mailed free tickets each month to me for free rides. All I had to do was go there and fill out their application and call them once a month for new tickets. Eton was in my area so that was the one I had to call. Not sure if where you are located that this would be available to you. I sure miss the free rides with my low income.

Thank you for this tip. I've always wondered about fresh meat verses meat that is already packaged. Which is more fresh? Will print this out and check at the grocers next time.

For extreme poor there is nothing like shopping at food pantries near your town.
