Just wrote an article on about doing your own PR, which as an actress/musician is an on-going task, as one always has to put one's face out there to try to get work.  It's like going down to the fishing hole everyday....Because I have never had $ to pay anyone else, I had to learn to do it myself.  And I must say, I can do a decent job of it, as good as anyone I could AFFORD.  The only trouble is that you are then asked by everybody to do some (mostly gratis) PR for them.  I have done a little - but then they EXPECT it on a regular basis...ugh...I have to learn to say "no."  That's hard - but it's so time consuming and I have other things to do - like LOOK for WORK. (and do my own PR)...

As a result of writing articles on associatedcontent, I hooked up with a guy up in Oak View who writes about horror by the name of Wes Laurie, and he asked to interview me for this site called terrortube.  It's at and I think it turned out very well.  See - the results of my diligence!

Oh, and I also managed to post some music on my musical group, Panoply's myspace music acct.  See it at  I feel like a genius!  And all it took was sweat equity.  I love that.

Heat Wave
Tuesday, September 04, 2007

There's been a terrible heat wave in S. California (not to mention the fires)...and my husband and I escaped to the beach and our boat over the holiday weekend.  It was even hot there one day!  We did have a lovely sail and it was great lounging on the boat in the ocean air.

Oooh. The apartment was HOT when we got back.  It took all night and all the AC and all the fans to cool it down.  (Don't think the roof is insulated very well...)  All together I have 8 fans (and 2 air cleaners) set up around this place!  (And 2 A/C units) - and it still just brings the temperature down to a reasonable level.  We had a brown out last week, and some folks are even without power - so all the lights are off...

You know, I think we got most of those fans used....You can get good deals on them...But the AC units were new...The newest one is a little clip-on fan I have directed right at me in front of my computer screen.  And, it does help...

So here I am, in shorts and a tank top, drinking my homemade iced tea - I shudder to think what our electricity bill will be!  You never used to suffer from this sort of heat in L.A. - Can we say global warming, boys and girls? I am recycling all my cans and my husband is giving them to the old pensioner downstairs who collects them & turns them in - It assuages my conscience.

At least the sail boat has a light carbon footprint - There are now these huge "stinkpot" motor boats in the marina - and the gas they burn up is incredible.  Sad to say, we were downwind of such a large boat's engine idling or warming up over the weekend and got a wave of exhaust fumes. Cough. Wonder when they will regulate THAT.
