Aw you poor thing! I HATE Mozzies.
This summer we hardly had any of the pesky things but some summers they invade en masse!
I live in a holiday coastal town so I just think that come here to vacation like the rest of the humans!

I sure hope it works for you as living with those pests would drive me bonkers!
Good luck to you.

Hello Kevin - I am not aware of a recipe yet for oily/normal hair but I will keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I do find an alternative.

Thank you for leaving a message.

Start reading the Simple Dollar. Trent has great articles on how to cook at home, how to save, how to stop latteing!

The American Cancer Society has a free program to help smokers stop. They will provide you with the patch or other means to stop...for FREE. Give them a call. I quit almost 3 years ago with their help.

Did lowballing it work for you?
Do your rich bosses still agree with that angle or have they changed their minds?
I hope it worked!

Thanx for the recipe, I just love not using too many chemicals, although I was wondering....is there an oily/normal option?

The baby in the picture is one of my great grand babies. I crocheted the hat she's wearing there-- to match a pair of booties, and sweater. That ultra fluffy yarn is heck to work with-- but results are so cute!
Am going to start trying to send for the free stuff that you are talking about. Have never tried that before. Never thought of giving them for gifts.
Thanks for the idea--Char

Thrift Stores
Friday, November 07, 2008 | By pamphyila

The pricing varies tremendously from one kind or location of a thrift store to another! I just try to figure out which ones are "good" and pretty much stick to those. After a while I can sort of figure out who the main donors are to a shop and the pricing policy...But even there there are things priced at almost retail at times - which is ridiculous - I have seen 99 Cent store stuff priced for more than what it is new! On the other hand, there ARE bargains if you look closely and often...and even Salvation Army and other thrift shops have SALES when they overstocked, and...I have gotten real designer things for a song and good leather handbags and so on - you just have to scope out the good places! I just scored on some 99 Cent Liz Claiborne grey knit pants which fit me perfectly and go great with a black/grey jacket I have. And some great shoes - shoes are relatively cheap because people are worried about germs (You do have to disinfect them...)But the good old days of stuff for pennies are over - I did score at the end of a big yard sale a week or so ago. I find that at the end of the say people just want to get RID of everything & practically give it away!

I do like to shop and I work off my shopping urges at thrift shops and 99 cent stores, where the damage is minimal!

My hubby has complained about all the mail & kids me about the mailman turning on us! But really, I have gotten a lot of useful things lately. Being careful only to get really FREE magazines & cancel any ones that slip thru. Did get a nice book on disasters from Random House. My hubby is reading it now.

Some women in a club I was in also donated those samples to homeless shelters - good idea - I have some rather poor friends I am giving these to directly as gifts. I don't go in much for the music - as it's pop stuff & pass that by.

And my husband the teacher can always find a good home for pens & pencils!

I use the lotions myself to supplement what I use daily, which I think really helps the bottom line in the end, as I don't spend much on such stuff, and my skin seems to like the variety. I have just gotten one t-shirt so far, a black one I like a lot...and I have eaten the cereal and bars and used the coffee samples! (Put them on the coffee mker for hubby to perk in and AM.)
It all makes for nice gifts, too. I had a friend who went on junkets while working for a magazine & had lots of swag - which he gave a gifts to friends. (Fancy lotion from him, too.)

I can't say that I am a pared down minimalist person - but I am thrifty! And as I am not working much, I think that it is my contribution to the household, as it does save us some $....esp. for my personal needs.
