Plants
Friday, November 04, 2011 | By pamphyila

I have also "rescued" plants from the trash on several occasions. The gardeners at our boat complex pull out bedding plants when the replace them & just toss them. I have been able to bring quite a few back to life!

Hey Pam!

I'm doing fine. I admire the way you take what you have and what you can glean and create something beautiful from it, making life richer without it costing an arm and a leg. We all have to learn to be more resourceful! (Although I think that anyone who posts on this site is already ahead of the curve. ;-) )

My daughter has been creating steam punk jewelry out of rusty bits and pieces she finds on the street, broken and tarnished vintage jewelry and chains we pick up cheaply at garage sales, and cast off watch movements from local jewelers. She sells them at a local vintage clothing shop.

I've been gleaning from the local composting site. You wouldn't believe the flowering plants, bushes, houseplants, and food that people are throwing away at this time of the year. People are crazed! The last time we were there, we picked up cement block for building more raised beds next year and sweet potato vine tubers, tomatoes to ripen, and 6 large green and yellow peppers. I've also picked up tons of other vegetables and flowers. Check out my site.

Keep blogging Pam and take care, Begonia.

Hey guys, as lunchtime is quickly approaching, I'm starting to crave Dairy Queen. I was just wanting to know if anyone has found coupons so I can get my meal cheaper.

Garden Expo?
Tuesday, October 18, 2011 | By vivianwest

I need to choose a song to sing, but am having great difficulty. It will be performed in front of people who will be passing by (or some that choose to sit down and watch) at a garden expo. People from all ages are usually there.

If you are cutting your own hair, whilest the student gets n guinea pig so to speak. How is that frugal when all you pay is 10 dollars for a student to do it, and 40 max for perms and color? I go to a beauty college myself twice yearly now in the town less than a hour away.

Do you YouTube maybe you could show how it is done. I would love to see myself, so I can be happy in the fact that we so don't have to pay to have a good hair cut. May be next hair cut could be done on YouTube eh?
