I always wonder if these packages have been ripped open or maybe someones finger going thru the wrapping. Kinda of leary. Thinking someones dirty fingernail may have been in there. Am I over reacting? Thank you

My great purchases once
Thursday, February 15, 2007 | By Rockcandy248

I bought a pair of Addidas for $3.00 at DSW and the pair of Steve Madden sandals I bought a Birmingham, Michigan rummage sale for $2.00. Those were great purchase memories too!

Unfortunately I put the gym shoes on top of my car and went down Woodward Avenue and they fell off somewhere, sometimes I still look at bum's feet to see if they have my beloved Addidas shoes on.

The Steve Madden sandals are great I feel like a sex kitten in them even though I stumble in the frequently while wearing them.

The best I got once was a pair of Speedo watershoes for $1.00. They were brand new too.

Bargain Evening Wear

My friend just bought a brand new gold top, labels still attached, for 1p plus p&p from the ebid auctions! I know the exchange rates are pretty high here at the moment, but I think that works out at just under $2.00 including delivery for a really glitzy evening top. The online auctions can be great if you can get the cheap postage and, believe it or not, it's sometimes cheaper to buy this way than in some of our local charity shops. And you can always sell the items again once you are done with them. That helps :)

my dumb computer will actually allow me to post on it. For some reason I can't post on one of the other sites I used to spend a lot of time on,

It's Sat. morning. Have had a shower, deep condioned my hair after a perm last week, done a load of dark laundry and played oh the computer.. What a life!!

I, too, am alone way too much. I'm a widow in my early 60s and live alone. My husband died about 3 1/2 years ago and I miss him so much. It's getting easier with time, but sometimes I think life will never be fun again. My daughter and son both live within walking distance, which helps, and my son has my only two grandchildren, a boy and a girl.. They spend quite a bit of time here withme and I'm glad they do..

This is my first reply,,,ever,,,on this site.

I know what you mean. I'm also a widow and am having to learn how to get by on much less income. And it still costs as much to live...hea the house, home maintenance, car maintenance, insurance, etc. all cost as much for one as they do for two. Always stock up at the store sales and have plenty of groceries , laundry and paper supplies on hand to last for quite a while. One of my major problems is health insurance and prescripions. Shop quite a bit at the resale shops myself. Want (and need) to lose some weight, but that would mean buying all new clothes. LOL

scared to scooter
Wednesday, February 07, 2007 | By RuralAngel

I can relate to using a scooter. Gas prices really limit my driving time now. It's just so cold out for a scooter right now. Do you need a motorcyle license to ride a scooter?
My husband and I ride his Harley when ever it's 50 degrees and above.

I've never hired anyone to do anything that I can't do myself and I've redecorted my home myself-from recoving counter tops, painting cabinets and laying floors. So if there's anything I can help with just ask.

Grief
Sunday, February 04, 2007 | By ladydragonfly

When my mother passed away back in 2001, and while we knew that her time left on this earth was short, it happened quite suddenly. I still feel her loss but only occasionally. When I miss her really bad, I turn to a journal I started right after her death and I sit down and write to her. I tell her how things are going, what I have been up too, any news that I think she would want to hear, and so on. My entry might just be a few lines or a couple of pages but it sure seems to help me get over the momentary saddness I might be feeling. I also started a small journal for my beloved 13 year old cat when she passed away, again when I am missing her I write a few words in her jounal, telling her I love her, saying goodnight to her, telling her about the squirrel I saw today or the birds hanging around the bird feeder. Sometimes I might go for months not writing anything but I know the journals are there if I need them.
