Monday, October 01, 2007 | By darween

Hi manytrees!
I too am picking up rocks here & there to pile right around my mailbox and side of driveway. YES! it is HARD WORK! It looks great when i put new rocks in there, but dead leaves and weeds are taking over. I don't know how to clean it out without marring the beauty of the rocks.

Uses for Basil
Tuesday, September 25, 2007 | By MCW

If you have a dehydrator, you can dry the herbs and save them for recipes.
Also I recently posted a recipe which uses fresh basil.

Type in the Search For Answers box,
my recipe is entitled: Pizza with Fresh Tomatoes and Basil.

I also photographed the pizza before I put it in the oven because Food Network didn't have a photo.

Click on the link in the recipe and it will take you to the Food Network. You can use the pizza crust recipe on the website and I also posted an Oat Bran Pizza Crust which I use all the time.

Maybe Some Help
Sunday, September 23, 2007 | By Mr. Thrifty

I believe in what you are doing my friend. while I cannot contribute the stuff you need .Maybe my contributed advice might help you get more supplies.
I am sure you get help from local churches by way of contributions, and most likely you are getting food stuffs afrom food stores in the area which you serve.
Here are a few places you might not of thought about asking to contribute.
1 Gas stations where you fill your vehicles
if you are listed as a charity f on the gas they contribute.
2.your vehicle mechanics Again they can pledge or discount their services and get write offs.
3.Other help? food and or service contributions by scouts, or any club organizations.Any or all can set up collection stations, organize events for whatever.
You also might think about expanding your soup kitchens into an information station. by adding a message computer or just a wall that all kinds of information maybe placed just might get some of those hungry people a place to stay ,education ,or even a job...
Oh another idea.
asked the phone company that serves your area to install an old coin operated phone. this could be used by your patrons to contact their families. With this phone asked for contributions of phone cards .
One other idea. try too start a paperback library which books can either be kept or returned. Any entertainment goes well for those in need.
I have many more ideas. please feel free to email me.
We are all part of this one world

Advice about the mold
Sunday, September 23, 2007 | By Mr. Thrifty

If I were you i would go back to that place you stored that stoller and check out for other mold. If this storage place is in your home accumulating mold could be dangerous. Iit was pobably caused from a water leak somewhere .
As for that stroller sunlight is molds worst enemy. scrubbing with water and even bleach might actually increase the mold.
as for cleaning go on line and type in homemade mold killers or other words like them.
If you did get another car seat I hope you freecycled your old one. Freecycle.org is a great place for new mothers to get many only slightly used baby things.
I wish you well

Hi Stella!

Hey, I'm so glad I found how to contact you again. I lost your information! I adopted Han from the RC in DaNang. It's actually been ONE YEAR ago this past week. I can't believe it. She's now known as Mia. She is SO unbelievably wonderful! In May I was able to travel to Ohio and let Mia meet up with many of her RC orphanage pals. Mia has a blog at www.little-miss-mia.blogspot.com
She is so happy and well-adjusted. Our social worker came for her update and was truly amazed at her progress. She still speaks in Vietnamese a little bit, speaks full English, and can say some Spanish phrases. She's only gained 3 pounds in the year she's been with us.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate you and ,oh, I can't remember her name but I met you both the day I came to get Mia. The attention you gave my daughter made all the difference in her life. THANK YOU!

My email address is encke2p@yahoo.com I have many many updated photos of most of the toddlers in the RC. I'd love to send some to you.

I attached a photo of Mia and Trang (now Kimberlee, remember Trang?) on their first day of preschool together.
I hope you are doing well in VN. You're living my dream of living there!

Best of luck!

One good tip... don't fixate too much on the scale. It's good track your weight but You may lose weight in spurts, you may lose it steady, you may work hard and not lose much weight for a couple weeks. Muscle weighs more than fat. You can be getting leaner and not see it on the scale. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is with diet AND exercise but you have to accept that's it's a slow process... but a process that will ultimately bring you success long term. Good luck and keep us posted!

great for you!

keep up the hard work and you will lose the weight. About 6 years ago I was 252 and decided to change my life. in a year I lost about 90 lbs. I gained 30 back but I'm working out and losing them again. if you ever need to talk feel free to email me. one bad day isn't enough to give up it's a process. be proud of yourself it sounds like your doing great!

A reason

Your sister could be controlled by her husband and not allowed to contribute to a gift for your mother.
Have you asked her why things are the way they are?
