I think anything to help with the boredom would be good, puzzles, cards, dvds. I also saw a few Marines that had grass seed sent over and they planted it by their tents to have a "feeling" of home. I also heard that wet wipes are good to send too because the sand gets everywhere.

Thanks.

My husband was in Iraq last Christmas so I know exactly what you are going through!

I sent him a little calendar with important dates circled (our anniversary, son's bday, mine, etc). I got him some DVD's of tv shows he liked. he told me the South Park one I sent was very popular-got passed around a lot. I always sent his favorite mints in every box. Even sent a stocking with his name on it filled with little snacks.
Chapstick is always good.

Hope this helps some!

The Toy Recall
Tuesday, October 23, 2007 | By Tanya39

Polly Pockets dolls weren't the only toys called back to the manufacturers that time. It was the other toys bought between that peroid with the Polly Pockets too. If, you have any of the assessories with Polly dolls bought between that time you need to report them and get a rebate as well on them from the Manufacturer. We have fun with the rebates.

Pressure cookers
Wednesday, October 10, 2007 | By Annie779

Yes, a pressure cooker is a great way to cook. It really saves on the electric. My dad, who is now gone, used to use it all the time. His "baked" beans were the greatest(just a recipe in the old Mirro cookbook).

Your dogs are beautiful. I love Chows. My Maggie is half chow but has the reserved nature, is very clean and has a lot of Chow traits.
Thanks for sharing,
Susan
