Cheap light therapy alternatives!
Hi, Rural Angel! Have you checked with your health insurer? If you have one. :( We have Aetna and sometimes we think it is not so great, but they told us that they would cover a light therapy box IN FULL (yes, you read that right!) if we got it from Apria, the company that our insurer deals with. There are many light boxes out there, of course. I was just about ready to order from Verilux (10,000 lux for just under $200) when I decided to contact our insurer. My husband and I were shocked to learn that Aetna would pay completely--no deductible due from us!--for this piece of DME (Durable Medical Equipment). DME covers a wide range of health-related products, such as wheel chairs, hospital-type beds, and many others. We had to get our doctor to write a prescription for the light box. It took many days to get it done correctly, between my emailing (hearing loss) to Apria and my husband calling several times to the doctor's office, but I was informed on Friday that the light box has been ordered and is on its way! This is for my husband. The short days of winter seem to affect him, so we really hope this will be of some help. Me, I LOVE winter! :) Snow is beautiful, our lawn (aka "weeds") stops growing, and I have 5 kitties to snuggle with. I can leave food overnight in the car if I have to and it's refrigerated! What's not to like?! Blood in clothes, fabric or mattresses Saturday, January 26, 2008 | By chocbak Use peroxide on a toothbrush. Repeat scrubbing it and let it sit awhile. Continue process and it will be gone. QUEEN Saturday, January 26, 2008 | By QUEEN912 I'm a widow 10 years now, and new to this feedback stuff. right now only thing I have to say is watch the wax soot from the candles and crayons. I found that it is always good to once a year burn cedar logs in your fireplace but not a big fire and watch it closelyCedar burns HOT and will burn away some of the wax soot. It helps to keep your chimeny clean. I found if you take magisines that haave a lot of color in it, soak it in water and dish detergent, roll it up very tightly and let it dry then burn it, it gives you a colorful fire. Aspirin Institute Thursday, January 24, 2008 | By galmud What in the world is the "Aspirin Institute?" I couldn't find it on the web. Could you please post their website so I can read their list of claims for myself? My dog ate a sock Monday, January 21, 2008 | By auntkay
Our dog Keyser was about 45 pounds and used to love socks. He would knock over the laundry hamper and go through it to find dirty socks. It was such a habit that we would call socks "Keyser treats." We had to be very careful about keeping our dirty socks up high where he could not get to them. And the worst part about this habit was that the socks would not digest but come out whole when he passed them. Superheros & Supervillains theme Sunday, January 20, 2008 | By moncarroll
I had a supervillains party because its a lot more fun to be bad so opening up the theme might help avoid having 5 spidermans and 25 wonder-women show up. Villains can be more fun and creative too and maybe easier for the girls because there are more girl baddies than goodies, poison ivy, cat woman, bond girls, white witch, all the other witches, etc. I went to my party as carmen sandiego. Golden Seal Saturday, January 19, 2008 | By Anonymous Golden Seal is one of the herbs that raises the blood pressure and smells horrible. Yes it's better than death. There are other herbs that strenthen the immune system. I have taken echinacea, astragalus, reishi (mushroom), elderberry, etc. The best herb books are the ones that give warnings about the herbs that have some negative side effects. Michael Hallowell is a excellent English herb book author. Title? I forgot. Read up on herbs before taking them to be safe. Your dog ate a sock - tip Saturday, January 19, 2008 | By Anonymous Get out your yellow pages. Look under veterinarians or veterinary clinics. Look for one listed as a 24 hour clinic. Call it. Ask them what you can do. I hope there is something you can do where you don't need to go to the vet. If they say you need to bring the dog in, ask when their CHEAPER day time hours begin & if it's safe to wait until then. I will be praying for you both. removing candle wax Tuesday, January 15, 2008 | By luvmygingerkids
ACK! Don't do anything else to them. Take them to a professional cleaner.
