Beach Christmas Ornaments

Last week I was in Florida and checked out how cute all the starfish ornaments were. I was too cheap to buy any so I bought plain starfish and sanddollars for $.49 each. I came home and found some ribbon to glue on the back and I am going to find a ponseitta pick and take it apart and glue to the front of the shells. Much less than the $5.99 asking price at the gift shops.

I have a seperate little tree I call my "Jekyll" tree. When I go to the beach, I find unsual shells that I can hang on my little tree, without frilly ribbons. I hot glue a loop of fishing string on them, then a big conch shell on top. I also pick up an ornament of light houses from our visits. It's a special tree, to remind me of the ocean!

That is a very good idea ninmccampbell! I think I will do a "vacation" tree and just have vacation items on it. I'll put that upstairs in the window.
