Believe me it's gorgeous. It gives it a slight sweetness which goes well with the tomato sauce.
I often have this for lunch with some ryvita's. Yum yum :p

I hope that you're getting settled in now. My husband and I moved to the mountains, here in SC. Its a pleasant adjustment getting away from city life. We make our jams and jellys, and sell some on consignment to pay for the costs(jars are quite expensive) We have a small garden and make use of two freezers. We are blessed with wild blackberries and muskadines, so alot of time is spent picking. I rather enjoy it, I spend alot of quiet time with God. On days off I go fishing, we have an abundance of places to go, there are alot of lakes and rivers around here and the scenery is beautiful.
As I get older I've learnt that less is more, especially when you downsize to a smaller place, and that to be frugal sometimes means to be content with what you have.
I wish you well in your new place and am looking forward to your progress reports!

Battle of the pounds
Tuesday, October 21, 2008 | By tinker716

I am with you. I doubt there are many diets that I have not tried. I am a four time Weight Watcher flunk out. Tried TOPS at least three times, been to several "diet" doctors and the list goes on. You can spend money but until you get the mind set that you are going to make a lifestyle change, you are wasting your time. not to mention a lot of money. I wish everyone luck with their change in lifestyle and hope it becomes a life long change. It sound so easy but is so hard to actually do. I am here if you need to talk.

Wicked $ Witch

Pam, I really enjoy reading your posts! Your lifestyle is different than mine, but we have the same goals, and we are both readers. I want to share that I got my best freebie ever, two weeks ago. A magazine I write for and the company they publish for teamed up to give me $800 for tuition and expenses to a writer's workshop. For about another $100 I was able to bring my husband along! We found someone to take care of the cows and birds, and drove from our Idaho farm down to Seaside, OR. It was so pretty! The beach is pristine, the touristy things so pretty, and there is even an indoor carousel in mint condition. We weren't tempted to spend on souvenirs, but we did go to the aquarium. Sometimes I got to play the wicked witch, saying we didn't need it, but I don't think he minded.
But something bad happened when we came back home. We went shopping at the D.I. and my wallet fell out of my purse and into the cart, and I didn't see it. I got the wallet back about an hour later, but the $120 was gone. There's good and there's bad.
My most interesting interview is coming up November 18th, though. I have a phone interview with Gary Puckett for Ruralite Magazine. After all these years, that guy is still working steadily, 51 weeks out of the year. I've always been a fan. Hope I don't sound like a groupie when I talk to him!
Thanks for putting such a positive spin on things. Don't know about you, but I'm starting to become a snob toward people who pay full price for anything. Aargh!

Being overweight is the hardest cruelest life to live.

Please if you have never lived being overweight never never judge, every clown has the best diet everon the market ha ha they take our money build us up and laugh all the way to the bank. I wish just once some one really did care enough that money did not speak louder than really trying to help us out of our bottomless hole.

midnight madness
Monday, October 20, 2008 | By jkl

We still have them. The malls in the area each have a different date during November & December. The sales staff hate them. The mall is open until midnight. However they claim that it's not worth the damages they receive. Hundreds of youths, hang around all night, and therefore the shoppers stay home

I miss them

The Old Kmart used to have them, it was so fun, hanging out in the eatery, trying to win contests, you know they should bring them back.

Reviving Flat Cola
Wednesday, October 15, 2008 | By pamphyila

You can still DRINK flat cola (or any other fizzy drink, even beer) by mixing it with NEW very fizzy cola (or whatever drink it is).
You can fiddle to get the right mix to produce a nice drink that's fizzy enough!
