prevent rusting scrub pads

Just place your scrub pad on a square of aluminum foil to dry. The aluminum foil will prevent the steel wool pad from rusting.

I take my scrubbing pads and cut them in half, (sharpens my sissers at the same time) and if they are still in good shape I put it in a sandwich bag and put it in the freezer and use it again. This makes a box last a long time.

I avoid Walgreens

I complete agree with you. I too, have gone into Walgreens in the early morning on the first day of their sales to try to beat everyone to it, only to find the items are already sold out. I think the employees buy them,so we'll never have a chance no matter what we do. This has happened to me several times, so I no longer shop there.

I enjoyed reading this post because I'm getting to the point where I'm considering no gifts for Christmas too. I've never done it before.
And I couldn't believe the news about the Walmart employee who died. That is so sad! I hope people will realize how dangerous extreme crowds can be and that's it not worth it. It's just material things that we don't always need.
What kinds of gifts do you think you can make from scraps around the house? I'd like some ideas in case I decided to make really frugal gifts instead of no gifts at all. Thanks!

sorry...

...but if you switched the cereals into each others box, i'd still have to throw out the generic stuff...some generic stuff is ok, but NOT cereal (to me), it's all tough and taste like cardboard.

Creativity out of necessity
Friday, November 28, 2008 | By pamphyila

As you can see from my blog, I, too, get spurred on by creativity when feeling broke. I find myself getting very crafty - Perhaps it will inspire me to work on my book on frugality! I lost steam there for a while. Oh - the GW I went to was more expensive than I remember it - and it looked more as if it had merchandise donated by businesses, somehow...But I still managed to make a few scores - see my blog entry for Blk Fri.

I agree!

I totally agree with this wonderful post! I am a "zine"writer for frugal vegans and when I have more money I don't have any good ideas and I can't seem to write! This summer we were quite broke and "Boom" my creative juices were flowing & my "zine" was finally completed! Thanks for a great post, i am looking forward to consumers now having to be frugal because of our economy :)
