Shine

Nope - I don't think you can tone it down - the shine is in the material. It's just fine & quite trendy - let it add snap to your wardrobe - shiny black is all the rage.

Clothes Off-Season

In my experience you can get the best deals on warm weather clothes when it's cold and vice versa! I got a fabulous Norwegian ski sweater down here in warm L.A. for a song - but not in the WINTER.

Candle Heater
Monday, January 12, 2009 | By pamphyila

Ever see colonial candlesticks with the tin reflector behind them? I took that idea and folded up an aluminum pie plate and propped it up behind my candle grouping in one case (& in the other I put it behind my cast iron candle holder). Both were on fire-proof bases (pryrex plates work or tiles). The idea is that the heat is saved and directed toward you - and what's more, the aluminum pie plate itself heats up and then radiates heat. It's crude and jimcrack - but it did work in heating my desk area up. I will do it again.

Hello, I have a couple of places for you to check on and you would also be helping our vets at the same time. Try the DAV hall they are the Disable American Veterans . some of the post have halls they rent out and more than reasonable also check the VFW that is the Veterans of foreign Wars some of them also have a hall, and a bar
I think the American Legion has a hall they rent out . and most if not all have a kitchen. and some of them have a party planner to help with food ideas . hope this helps , if I can help further with other wedding things let me know in my state which is not in yours sorry , I do budget weddings , so I may be able to help with the other costly things . you can get a hold of me at my name plus the aol site . hope this helped Best Wishes for your new happy life Erica
Anyone else needing help feel free to contact me . I can also be reached on paltalk
My screen name there is GODSURVIVALCAMP

I think his relocation would be paid for, but the other city is ALOT more expensive and our quality of life would decrease with travelling time and bad city air. We'd give up a 5 bedroom house for a 1 bdr condo. No thanks! I like my garden :) We decided to stay put and cross our fingers. He has a high end job so it was recommended to go to a head hunter for him to find work if he gets laid off.

My Free Calendars
Sunday, January 11, 2009 | By Rockcandy248

I got some lovely free calendars from Pillsbury and Betty Crocker. They have nice big squares to write in, with recipe ideas and best of all FREE!

I love your writings and I would really like a picture of your candle heaters as I can't figure out how you are doing it.

The sex of the animal does not matter when it comes to weeds and manure
Saturday, January 10, 2009 | By tigra

Ok people a genuine cowgirl here is gonna anwer the question for you. It does not matter what kind of manure you get as far as weed seeds go so much as what the animal who the manure came from was eating!!! If the cow or steer was eating weedy hay with a bunch of noxious weeds in it guess what you are going to get? The thing to do is find a rancher or farmer who has a pile of manure preferably one that is covered that has been in that pile for at least two years. This allows the manure to be "well aged" ie partly decomposed and not so high in nitrogen where it will burn plants where it is placed, and will give much better results. Also the heat from the decomposing manure will kill most weed seeds the exception to this might be knapweed you would need to check on that with your county extension agent. Hope this helps.
