Dining Coupons
Friday, January 16, 2009 | By pamphyila

Now have a collection of meal coupons which we put in the car - so hubby can use them for lunch - or we can peruse them to see what's discounted. Also can get Starbucks' cards online for filling out surveys. Used have a Subway card which got punched so I could get a free sandwich - don't know it they still do that....

Bingo etc.

Occasionally I play the slots at local casinos - but always look for the non-smoking section! And I calculate how much I put in by the "free" drinks (and the bargains on food) I get so it pretty much comes out even. I did win $250 once, tho - that was nice. But whew! $20 for bingo??

It could possibly be that the message was lost or the phone number was recorded wrong...I've been in situations where the number I had was wrong and I COULDN'T reach the person. I'd give it another try.

Like you, I'm also tired of the begging! When we hear that only a small percentage for the collected donations actually go to the cause it makes me hesitant to give. My husband supported ONLY the salvation army because of his experiences in the Koran conflict and now our whole family supports only this charity.

It's the saddest thing for a child to be sick and to suffer. My prayers will be added to yours for the welfare of your child.

I have made candlelight suppers - decked the table, put on great music - and then had an intimate evening - Any place you could manage to get away for the evening? Or get the kids babysat? Men love intimate evenings!

The squeaky wheel gets the grease & one has to squeak loudly these days. If they didn't respond, shame on them. I would write a letter to the Head Office complaining - it will embarass them & I would be surprised if you don't get action. It has worked for me in related circumstances. Don't be put off by a gatekeeper - once you get IN, people are usually quite nice.

I am vegan and tried a raw food diet for awhile and felt great. I still eat a lot of raw foods but still incorporate cooked foods. I find it's a bit tougher to live this way living in a colder climate as the fruits and veggies this time of year are not only pricy but not fresh. I prefer eating more raw when produce is fresh and I can get it locally. :)

Skating

Perhaps a night of skating outside followed by a mug of hot chocolate at a café or make your own to bring with you in a thermos! :)

Yeah I often go with points which really helps cut down costs and the fact that my friend works for an airline will get us a $250 first class ticket return to Cancun! We found a $30 hotel room in Playa del Carmen too. Travelling has always been a must for me so I cut down on a lot of other luxuries to do this, We don't have children so there is more money than some people have and I can often travel alone as my partner doesnt always like to fly :) I'm just a travel bug and I blame my parents, They travelled extensively (dad passed away last year but my mom still travels a lot), They told us to see the world and my brother and i have seen a lot on our own.. :D I'm very happy for my good fortune and i had parents who could afford to take us many places and get us hooked!
