Did anyone say anything about the free box at the sale, and did anything in the free box stink bad...?

neighbor's dog

I agree with the others. Talk with the neighbor. Marking territories is a pain but you have no idea if this dog has had its shots. You may be able to scare the dog away with a very load noise every time he shows up. It is a type of training. If something unpleasant happens everytime he comes, he might not come back. A loud air horn might work. Since I work rescue, I often have neighbor dogs want to investigate my yard. I usually go out and clap my hands and advance on the dog. This claims my territory. I also hold my arms out making myself larger. They may bark but they always go away. BUT if I'm not there.....they pee of course.

Cooking In Advance
Tuesday, May 26, 2009 | By Jess

Something you might try is just to halve the ingredients in your favorite recipe, to make a half batch. If you put away your larger pots and pans, it will help you remember to make smaller portions.

I have trouble cooking for only 4, I often have an extra meal if I am not careful. I'm happy if I have only a leftover or two for lunches through the week. I'm always trying to shop from my freezer first when planning the weekly meals. I also try to freeze ingredients for meals, rather than finished meals, like browned ground beef, or spaghetti sauce.

Here is an article on ThriftyFun that offers advice for this situation. My favorite tip was to swap meals with a friend or neighbor. That way you can still cook your favorite recipe and get some one else's favorite another day.

Dog Rescue
Monday, May 25, 2009 | By Amma-Linda

I work in rescue and currently have 10 dogs living at my home. I love mine too. The trouble I find is to give them enough individual training. I buy good quality food at the feed store and have found an inexpensive vet. My rescue does pay for a few things though. I buy most of my heartworm meds from a distributor in Australia. I have to work hard to keep everything from smelling doggy. I open windows every morning and spend a fortune on carpet shampoo, air fresheners etc. Having this many dogs is definitely a challenge.
