Girl, you are too funny!!!

First off, don't sit next to that same man ever again! Or, carry a can of air freshner and give him a spritz whenever he is offensive!

Secondly, while the material may have been interesting it may have just been too much information all at one time. Many people tend to "zone out" in the same circumstances.

You may have had a long day at work before your class and maybe were a little tired, but now that you know that you have a tendency to drift off you can correct the situation. Maybe next class you could sit at the front of the class (especially away from the noxious fumes of your one classmate). Maybe, raise your hand and ask a question, some interaction may help you.

I hope that you glean some great information about money management that you can share with us in your upcoming blogs, I look forward to them!

We do grieve differently!
Thursday, January 25, 2007 | By Persnickety Paula

Oh Katie, you brought tears to my eyes today. Not that I feel bad for myself, but my sister-in-law. She lost her mom (who was suffering and so sickly) four years ago and is absolutely bitter; she is so angry towards God that she has declared herself an athiest. I, myself, have lost my dear father three years ago; also suffering and so sickly. I praise my Lord for the time that I had with my dad and I am so very thankful that he is no longer suffering. My pain, while still there, is nothing like my sister-in-law suffers with. I don't know how one goes about choosing how to grieve, but if we could only find the answer imagine all those that we could help with the process?!

My heart aches for your friend and her children. But, for her children, I think she will be strong and she will realize that their lives will go on and not have to be filled with bitterness or anger. And, she is very fortunate to have a friend like you to talk with when she needs to.

Loved your post!

MamaJude, I use candle wax too for firestarters; I have dipped pinecones in the melted wax and I have also used dryer lint in the wax, pour it into cardboard egg cartons and cut apart the sections.

I, too, like the local re-sale shop; I got a beautiful red blazer for $2.50. I love letting someone else spend the big bucks on the clothes, then when they get tired of it, it gets passed on to someone like us for a much better price!

I look forward to your future blogs...
Best wishes, Paula

Welcome! ThriftyFun is about sharing anything and everything. Home improvement, recipes, tips about child rearing; you name it!

Buying a new house and moving is quite an experience in itself. Now, you have maintenance and upkeep. You may have experiences to share about your new home.

When I moved into my home, the troubles began....broken pipes, rotting bathroom floor, the toilet had slipped off the sewer pipe and wouldn't flush (we were without a toilet for two days until the plumber fixed it!) Then, last but not least, my vacuum caught on fire while I was using it! While I ran around in circles trying to decide to throw it into the snow or run to get the extinguisher, the fire went out. The whole time I emailed my family daily about my adventures and they now tell me that they wished they had saved all the emails so I could have published a book!

Things have finally settled down now, and now I am starting to redecorate (as much as my budget will allow). I love when people share their decorating projects or ideas, maybe you have some bits of knowledge to pass on to us?

I am looking forward to your future blogs, best wishes, Paula

No wonder you're exhausted. That's alot to take on in 1 year, especially with a toddler at home. You should talk things over with your husband and together come up with a plan on how to manage your stress. Can he help with your 17 month old and give you an afternoon once a week to yourself so you can relax. Every little bit helps. Also, if you know of other mothers, you could always do a baby sitting swap. If you know enough other mothers, you could each take turns having play dates once a month. This would take a little work setting up, but it would be worth it in the end. Also, if you enjoy children, perhaps you could set up a home day care. Good luck - I hope you find the solution that works for you!

That's a great deal! However your calculation is wrong. 2 bottles at $.88 each = $1.76 minus your $1.00 coupon = $.76 divide that by 2 = $.38 each - not $.34.

Ah, yes, I can relate. You can choose "none" which is like choosing no category. It is only so that if you are only interested in one topic or another, you can find those that are interested in that topic, too. Cute dogs!

Hi,
Post something more about your situation. Having a new home is always fun but also challenging. There are always new things to fix, the yard to care for, etc.
