Gourmet dinner out for cheap

Yesterday I had a long day at work. I couldn't leave the office until this one person was gone, so i was around for an extra 1/2 hour. I actually worked 1 1/2 hours more than normal which was ok. I was tired and hungry by the time I left :)

My hubby called as I was on my way out, he had had a really stressful day at work. Lots of people around the country are losing their jobs due to cutbacks and his company has been laying people off all week. So basically he was on edge. He picked me up downtown and we headed over to a nice fancy bistro which has specials every wednesday. Pizza and Pasta night for $10! And I'm not talking diner style pizza and pasta, but the gourmet stuff prepared with quality ingredients and a well known local chef! I picked the pad thai with tofu. And WOW was I stuffed afterwards. We agreed that anytime we want to go for a "nice" dinner, we should go there on Wednesdays. A fancy night out for under $25 :D

Today I am feeling a little under the weather but I had to open the office so I couldnt stay home. Because I am a temp, I don't get paid if I don't work, so taking time off to be sick isn't something I like to do. It's almost noon now and I might head home. I can barely write in this blog right now :) My head is heavy, let's hope I am not coming down with the flu.
