Sale Flyers & Valentine's

I love Thursdays because the sale flyers come out with the morning paper. After I get my morning work done at the office, I peruse the flyers carefully and make a list of things to stock up on. (thank goodness I get paid today!)

This week one grocery store has buy one get 2 free! So I'll pick up apples, english muffins and some laundry soap! There seemed to be a lot of meat & junk food with this sale and since I don't eat either (and don't know anyone who really does), I am only able to get a few items. They also have potatoes but we don't eat a whole lot of them.

I've been doing research and trying to come up with Valentine's ideas for my zine. Even though no one I know celebrates it, I will still participate and give friends some fun stuff. I found some amazing ideas which I will try to post closer to the day. One of my favourite ideas came from the Martha Stewart Website:

I love tulips (not fond of roses) so this is something I might do next month for myself if I find more pretty tulips on sale! :)
I suppose you can make the same type of arrangement using any kind of candy for any occasion. I love this idea!
