Re: freezing milk
Sunday, September 14, 2008 | By Wendopolis

It's important to leave room for the milk to expand in the bottle, so pouring out a bit before freezing is helpful. Also, those thin plastic milk jugs can get holes in them easily, so be careful. Been there, done that!

smelly house

Use a yellow peeled onion. place it as
close to the odor as possible and in as many places as you can....I also live in a mobile and had the same problem and believe it or not discovered this by accident. IT works!!! Dont worry about retreiving the onions either!!!!!! They will just shrivel up!!!!!!

smelly house

I would open everything I could and turn just the blower on instead of air or heat...just something to blow through the duct work. There is really no way to get rid of it if you can't find it so just time and lots of air.

I'm very interested in this, will you be able to write? You are at a good age to share what you know.

your cat not liking the litterbox
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 | By Ysteb

Have you tried softer litter, like the wood shavings? Do you know what the previous owners used for cat litter? Sounded like you'd not had her long & there may have been readjustment problems --- or odors from other pets. Peeing outside the litter box sometimes is marking territory. Urine Be Gone is a great odor remover. Get it at Ace Hardware or CVS or similar places.

I love reading your blog too!

Pam:

I look forward to reading what you write, I enjoy your "boho" way of living frugaly. I've watched some of your clips and enjoyed them very much.

I hardly ever comment, but you have the best postings on this site. I'm starting to be like you and looking around for things to wear to work from the Salvation Army (or as my friends son calls it the Stewstation Army). I've picked up a few jewelry pieces and thought to myself Pam would have bought this too!

Keep up the good work!

Christine

Pellets for Heating
Wednesday, September 10, 2008 | By Rockcandy248

There was recently a great article on thesimpledollar.com. The article was called twelve tactics to save on your heating bill or something to that effect - lol.

Here is the link, I hope you can access it, there was a lot of information on it.

title for your book
Tuesday, September 09, 2008 | By strawberrygal2007

I like the first sentence in the third paragraph for a book title. No one wants to live like the lower class. Frugality is meant to offer more for less.
Maintaining a middleclass sytle on an average income in an expensive city. that says it all!
I enjoy hearing about your auditions. Two recently. Good luck with those. They will be blessed if they select you.

Oldie but Goodie

Thanks for the memories.I mentioned to my friends that I was going to re-do my guest room in 50's theme. We're all mostly frugal esp.Robin and Liz.We each try to out do each other in who got the cheapest ditty.Since my project began I've gotten loads of 50's stuff. It's been about the the most memorable jaunt I've taken. What a wonderful time for growing up it was for most of us.
