It could be an issue of undersocialization from the previous home. I would take the dog to a good kennel/ trainer and have his behaivor evaluated. They can tell you if its an issue of the dog's temperment, or if there are just situations you should avoid with the dog in the future. After the evaluation, you still don't feel comfortable with the dog in your home i would contact the rescue group/ shelter and tell them the situation and also what the trainer said. Rescue groups are always willing to take the dog they adopted out back and can make an educated decision on what to do with the dog Pet store pup problems Thursday, April 19, 2007 | By allie cat The scary thing about buying a puppy from a pet store is that these dogs come from puppy mills, where countless puppies are bred together and are exposed to numerous diseases. Is she drinking water? Is she lethargic? Blood in stool can be due to intestinary tract problems, even just stress, but it is also a symptom of Parvo, which at her young age she couldn't possibly have all of her vaccinations against it and could have been easily exposed to at the pet store. I'd take her to a vet bloody stool Wednesday, April 18, 2007 | By TerryS May I say, "what a cute puppy'. When I brought my little toy poodle home, we had the same problem. Get to the vet. She needed some pills of charcoal to help with to get rid of the mucus. Then he switched her to a different puppy food and the problem was solved. She is not 17 and still has a very picky stomach and disgestive tract. Christmas cards Sunday, April 15, 2007 | By Roseyposey

There are so many things that could be causing this from simple things to more serious things such as parasites or an underlying disease that could be really serious. To be sure, just call and take your puppy in. It is much better to pay for a vet visit and make sure your dog is OK than to wait and see if it resolves and the dog dies. I lost a puppy to parvo once because we thought his diarrhea came from something he ate. Get your puppy checked out. Some suggestions Saturday, April 14, 2007 | By jazzbird719 We were given a purebred Bichon this spring that was given up because the owner didn't like the odor the dog had developed. It turned out the dog had a yeast infection in her ears. She is a wonderful companion and her ears cleared up with eardrops. We do thorough cleaning with alcohol when we bathe her now. When I was in college I had terrible ear infections and my ENT doctor mixed up a solution of boric acid and alcohol. In reading the post on homemade medicine, it brought back memories and it sure seems it would work. I remember that the medicine burned really bad when it was put in though as I am sure the area was irritated. Yeast is a type of fungus and in reading about herbal medicines, it seems that natural cures and preventatives can be simple things like avoiding yeast breads, eating yogurt or taking acidipholus supplements. This works with folks but I don't know about dogs. One suggestion might be to talk with your local humane society to see what they do with animals that have infections such as this. They may have a simple solution that does not cost an arm and a leg. A word of encouragement for you though - we adopted a dog 3 years ago that turned out to be deaf from chronic infections. He had a terrible life before coming to us and he was so smart that it took about 9 months for us to figure out that he was deaf. When we did, we figured out that we could have a wonderful life together with just a few changes. We got on the internet and read and we taught him doggie sign language with hand signals. We watch out for him a little more, but now our other dogs look out for him also and it really is no trouble to have a hearing impaired dog. Good luck with your fur-kid. puke on a white blanket Thursday, April 12, 2007 | By deebomb I don't know if this will get the color out for you but a cup of whit vinegar will get the smell out. I have a Cockapoo puppy that has had chronic ear infections, so this prompted me to do a web search on ear infections in Cocker Spaniels. Even though he is only 1/2 Cocker, he inherited the Cocker ears from his mom. This website has a great homemade recipe for ear infections in all breeds of dogs. http://www.zimfamilycockers.com/EarCleaner.html
