I'm getting Spring Fever
Tuesday, March 27, 2007
I've just been to the mall to do my Easter Shopping and have caught the Spring Fever.
Spring Fever for me is craving greenery. I then have to surround myself with plants and seeds to start my garden. I just bought chive and beautiful velvet sunflower seeds.
I can't wait to plant them. The birds love sunflowers and my son will love watching them grow as well.

Chives

I'm with you! I have spring fever too. I worked outside yesterday in my little herb bed, it is the only place that the snow had melted enough for me to work in!
I have a lot of chives, but I planted them far away from everything else; chives re-seed and you will have baby chives everywhere! They have a very pretty pink flower, but you have to cut them off before the seed drops. I never got to it fast enough and then the next year I had to pull chives like I was pulling weeds!
I also love sunflowers, though, I let the birds do all the planting for me. I feed them black oil sunflower seed and they drop seeds all over the yard, it is always a surprise to see where a sunflower will show up. I am so happy that you are sharing your love of gardening with your son! You need to take his picture at various stages of plant growth, eventually the sunflowers will tower over him! Have fun! Paula
Me Too!

I have the spring fever too. Yesterday I started a lettuce patch on my apartment balcony and started germinating some morning glory seeds on top of the fridge.
I got the seeds for $.10 a pack, so for $.30 I had fun part of the night getting things ready for planting a balcony garden. I went to the library, but the books I got aren't that informative on what I want to do.
I made cute little planters for the morning glories out of costco coffee cans. They turned out cute. I spray-painted them pink. I know, I'm a dork!
