Drawing a Blank
Friday, October 24, 2008
I have no idea what to say right now. I can start by being humble.
My Dear Fellow Thriftymen, women, children...my mind was very unruly today and I apologize for all the editing it caused. I hope to plump up any crushed feelings with this apology. Smooth over any gruff attitudes. I typed like a maniac at thriftyfun.com ...I'm on new meds and I can get a doctor's excuse.
For future referance all my creative behavior will be barely contained at ... www.myspace.com/abarcode
Thank You, a not very Rural Angel

Concrete Blonde
Thursday, October 16, 2008
is/was a band I liked. I'm a black top brunnette I guess..I used to use peroxide on my hair when I was younger. I always wanted to be a blonde. At mid life I'm assured my husband loves dark hair. He also said he doesn't mind the silver hairs popping out. I call the silver hairs tinsel. I'm very well decorated thank you.
Well any way..I have been looking for all the uses of peroxide for a long time! I finally found some tips and here they are:
1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.
2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.
3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.
4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.
5. For Fungus on the feet spray a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.
6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. I read that gangrene was cured buy using peroxide. I don't know if this is true or not.
7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.
8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue.
9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.
10. if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide-burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, faddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually, so it's not a drastic change.
11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils fungus, or other skin infections.
12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.
13. Use peroxide to clean mirrors. There is no smearing.
14. if you have a dog that's flea infested, a bit of peroxide in it's bath water will kill them immediately. I bought several bottles of peroxide at a scratch and dent store. With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple way!

Discount Diva
Sunday, October 12, 2008
Thrifty Artwork! A friend of mine lives an hour away so we don't get to see each other very often. We both go to thrift shops in our own neighborhoods. We like to compare our thrifty purchases. I made a note card with this heart spoon rest on the front of it. I purchased the expensive spoon rest for pennies on the dollar. Only a Discount Diva would appreciate the art work.

Saving on Sunday
Monday, October 06, 2008
Yesterday was a fine day. My kids drove south for 20 minutes and we drove north for 20 minutes. We all met at a car show. Perfect weather to wander around and look at over 1000 various cars. Meeting at a place like that saved us all driving time and gas money. I was thrilled to spend the day with my husband and kids. I will have find more free events in the same area for future outings.

The Other Half
Saturday, October 04, 2008
I just think my husband is so handsome. He's worth putting up with! I'm spoiled rotten! Just thinking positive today. Negative activity warps my mind. It's not a good feeling. My kids are not happy. I can help mentally but not physically or financially. It's time to go plant the azeala I got for almost nothing.
