Blue whitener not available
Saturday, March 07, 2009 | By Hemmigrammus
During the 1950s, my mother used a little blue bag (blueitt) when washing the 'whites'. This product was manufactured by Reckit & Coleman. This product is no longer available in England, however, through Thriftyfun, I've discovered its available in America.
Females termed this product as the blue whitener.

Pink Outside the Box
Monday, September 29, 2008 | By RuralAngel
I’m entering a weekly contest at Ivillage.com called Pink Outside the Box.
1st weeks question: How do you assert your personal style at work.
My answer: I always assert my style with a smile.
2nd weeks question: Tell us about a role model in your life that stays true to their personal style.
My answer: I admire any one who recovers from the depths of any tragic misery. These survivors are all the greatest of role models.
How am I doing? 4 more questions to go. That means 4 more witty answers.
I could win a trip for 2 to NY, a shopping spree with a stylist, lunch and a blackberry. A friend also gets the same prizes.
http://ivillage.waidev5.com/pinkoutsidethebox/site/index.php?view=archive&archiveweek=1 LOOK! I’m on the list of entrants. My answer is completely different than anybody else’s. I don’t think weight loss or make up are Pinking Outside the box.

My husband thinks of me as a twittering bird and, in face, I AM on www.twitter.com/pamphyila !! Working out the feed thing here - but I so try to post all the new blog entries here at twitter, fyi -
It's my birthday Sat. Happy Birthday to ME! Those greeting cards so count - so far I have only gotten one - from my mother-in-law of all people! I have it out to look at - Wish everyone were as thoughtful in an old-fashioned way. Other than that - and my loving husband - I only get greetings from online computer systems. Ugh.
I vow I WILL get more and more meticulous about observing birthday dates! (I do have the cache of greeting cards at hand...)

Posts are written but flying off alone into cyberspace never to be seen again! Arg. So I postpone re-telling my saga of managing the ventilation in my apartment during L.A.'s current heat wave....
Here is another link I am trying to link to mybloglog.com - to get to other readers. The code follows - We are working on a feed to get us up to technological speed!

$ spent in Iraq
Tuesday, February 05, 2008 | By pamphyila
Since this is a frugal-minded website and community and BLOG, I thought I would include a link to the American Friends Service Committee's video on how we could spend the $ that daily goes to Iraq here at home.

No matter what your politics are - the costs are staggering.
