Beauty Bingo
Saturday, March 05, 2011 | By tyngsbaran

Has it ever occurred  to you that quest for Beauty is an endless adventure.  When we're young and

a natural beauty,we had no clue what to do with it.  But now that age has crept up on us, we have to fight to hold back  every line and age spot!  I don't know about you but I wish I had all the money I have spent on Make-up and serums, that promise no more lines or wrinkles.  Even to the extent of spending$500.00 for Botox, that's only temporary.

If u feel the same way,let me hear from u, all your misadventures.

Surround yourself with beauty
Friday, October 15, 2010 | By MzScarlett

Surround your self with BEAUTY. Things that YOU love; being frugal does NOT mean miserable; Lena Liu is a wonderful artist I admired for years; I got one of her beautiful paintings under a bunch of grime; spotting it I KNEW what it was and who it was done by; short of $ then, returned a week later and got it for 1/2 price of $5.00; It has a treasured place in my home; and I DELIGHT in it's beauty!

I have CUPS that I LOVE to drink out of; I have plates I LOVE to eat off of; do they match? NO; neither do my bowls but I LOVE to eat out of them as well! I have 4 Royal Dalton plates of wild flowers, all different, got for $2 each; and I LOVE them; my silverware doesn't have to match either! I recently just got a glass sqare cake pan for $1.00!!! I have glass bread pans, and several glass skillets; as well as cast iron ones. THESE are HEALTHY for us to use; and yes it took TIME to find them but I DID! Steadily removing ALL aluminium even COOKING ware from my house; it causes so much medical problems folks it should not even be available for SALE in this country! And if we had a WORKING and FUNCITIONING Government we would NOT!

My curtains in my kitchen I just love so much; I got at yard sale for $4.00; I NEVER just "buy" to COVER them; I WAIT til I find something I LOVE! And at a price I am wiling to pay for them; I have glass jars of various sizes and shapes filled with things; and I LOVE them!

Find beautiful things that appeal to YOU; and then, surround yourself with BEAUTY; in your everyday life. You will then ENJOY life to the fullest and SAVOR the sheer joy of life and living!

Tangerine planters and yellow planters etc; ALL appeal to us as BEAUTY; and they LIFT our spirits up; THIS is the joy of having BEAUTY around you. THIS is I believe what seperates the women from the men. Even if one single rose bush; outside a mud hut, women DELIGHT in BEAUTY!

planning ahead
Thursday, September 23, 2010 | By MzScarlett

Plan ahead NOW for the dark, gloomy days of winter, when the shortest days of the year are coming!  What I DID was simply get some SPRAY PAINT: pumpkin orange is my favoritest, looks EXACTLY like tangerine! (they were OUT of it at Walmart!) so I  got some FUSION YELLOW paint.

Took me HOURS (not really, but at LEAST 8 minutes to make up my mind: it would have been thru 2 cities, and to the very end of another to find pumpkin IF they had it in stock!) so I finally chose the YELLOW FUSION: for 2 reasons: FUSION PAINT actually BONDS to the plastic and becomes a permanent part of it! and YES it REALLY TRULY WORKS!

Makes some old planters that are marred scarred maybe even a little tear in it; look NEW! and actually I was quite surprized to find out that a can of paint goes a VERY long ways when it comes to pots to plant things in!  I am THINKING: on overcast, rainy, wet cold weather: I can look with DELIGHT and JOY out my window: and SEE bright cheery yellow and TANGERINE pots! even if the TREES in them are deciduous! YES YES YES!

Cheers to ALL!

Revive dried Mascara!
Monday, September 13, 2010 | By JunieB

Add 3-4 drops of contact solution or sterile saline in your Mascara tube. Pump a few times and your ready to use it again.  This also works on liquid eye liner too.  I usually get at least another month of use from doing this.

Nail art ideas
Friday, March 05, 2010 | By Mrs.kk

I am learning nail art. Currently by hand. I did buy the airbrush maching but haven't got my stencils from ebay yet. And learning to use it will be difficult but I am excited. Frustrated might be a word I use in later posts..... stay tuned...

Here is a few of the ideas I have done so far. I get my tips & ideas from things around me & youtube.

It is easy to do on fake nails, somewhat on peoples nails & really hard on my own. I am left handed, quickly learning to be right handed as well.

I hope I inspire someone out there.

Exfoliate naturally with Strawberries and Sea Salt.
Friday, October 16, 2009 | By GreenGirls

If exfoliation isn't horrible for the environment, then why use strawberries?

Funny you should ask. It is the moisturizer that often follows exfoliation that can be ecologically unsound. These moisturizers often come packed in plastic tubes. Strawberries can be purchased sans tube or much packaging at all. Plus, strawberries are chocked full of acid. They'll do the job of a moisturizer as well as exfoliating. So why not use strawberries as an exfoliant? They work great on the hands and the feet but can be applied to the face as well.

Here are a couple recipes for strawberry exfoliation that I found on the internet:

This strawberry exfoliation recipe comes from Associated Content.

You can use about 8-10 strawberries from the store. You will need 2 tablespoons of apricot oil or olive oil. You will need 1 tbs of coarse salt, or sea salt so that you can exfoliate or rub on the skin. You will then mix all the ingredient together and then massage it on your hands and feet as exfoliate. You will then rinse your hand and feet and pat dry. Strawberries have natural fruit acid that helps in exfoliation of your skin. You can also use strawberries son your face.

This recipe for strawberry foot and hand exfoliant comes from Beauty Tips Hub:

Ingredients for Strawberry Hand and Foot Exfoliant
4-6 ripe Strawberries
1 tsp of Coarse Salt (you may use sea salt or kosher salt)
2 tbsp Olive Oil
4 Almonds (with skin)

Preparation for Strawberry Hand and Foot Exfoliant
Grate the almonds, finely Mash the strawberries. Avoid using a blender because the strawberry mixture may become too watery.

Add the salt, olive oil, and almonds to the mashed strawberries. Mix well. Store in a glass jar and refrigerate. This mixture stays good for about 7 days, at the most.

Application of Strawberry Hand and Foot Exfoliant
Clean your hands and feet with a gentle soap. Use a towel to gently pat your hands and feet, dry.

Apply the strawberry exfoliating scrub, evenly, to your hands and feet. Leave it on for about 3-5 minutes. Allow yourself to relax. If possible put your feet on a low stool.

Massage your hands and feet with gentle but firm, rotating movements for about 2 minutes. Wash off the exfoliating scrub with lukewarm water. Use a soft towel to pat your hands and feet dry.
Take a little body lotion and gently massage it on the freshly, scrubbed area.

You may repeat this process two times in a week.
The Strawberry Hand and Foot Exfoliant exfoliates and nourishes the skin of your hands and feet. This exfoliating scrub rejuvenates your skin. So, prepare this easy-to-make exfoliating scrub and give your hands and feet a fresh and clean look.

Give Thanks to the women in your life
Sunday, October 04, 2009 | By hfloreal

Give Thanks to the women in your life, by giving back to others less fortunate.

I would like to offer husbands an opportunity to shine in the eyes of the women in their lives.  This Thanksgiving, give each of the special women in your life an small token of your appreciation.  I am an Arbonne Consultant....I am a wife, mother and teacher.  If my husband gave me a "Make-Up Primer" (my favorite product) out of the blue and told me that I could choose one of three charities to donate to I would be shocked that he even thought to buy me something that is TOTALLY for me and only me (unlike the fishing rod I got for my birthday:)...or eye cream or something that is so practical, but not something I would always spend money on because as a woman we put everyone else first.

If you tell me the women you want to honor this Thanksgiving, and a little something about them, I can help you choose a small but thoughtful gift for them from Arbonne and will donate 15% of whatever your total is to one of 3 special charities.  I am thinking the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a Breast Cancer Charity and a Shelter for Abused women.  If you have a charity that is close to your heart, let me know and I will allocate your 15 % to that charity.

Please see my website, I am currently running a Fundraiser for a little girl with a brain tumor, "The Mighty Quinn". I will be donating all of my retail profit for the month of October...any participation is welcome. Details of the Thanksgiving Gives Back are not yet formulated, would love suggestions, or feedback...I need to build this business for my family,  but I must do it while helping others along the way....

If you or someone you know is looking for an opportunity like I was, and shares my passion for giving back, helping other yet working towards a more secure financial future for your family, I would love to tell you alittle about what I do.  If it is not for you, no problem, I know it is not for everybody.

Thanks

Look forward to your replies!

Thursday, July 02, 2009 | By lexieh20

Beauty or the Beast? Who are you?If you look in the mirror and say OMG I am so beautiful everyday or moring you are not beauty you are the Beast because you are being self senter.  If you look in the mirror only sometimes and you know that you are beautiful then you are the real beauty. Beauty is not the outside of you it really is the beauty inside of you. And that is what counts. So be the beauty not the beast!
