bentwood arbors gazebos tables

Thursday, September 04, 2008

All of this is made out of bentwood. I used bentwood from our property. Bentwood can be Alder, cedar, Fir etc... I used all of the above on this items shown. It is best to use new fallen trees that are not rotten or scrub trees. Pre drill holes and I use screws. The arbor has planters on both sides that is lined in the inside with old tarps then plywood and last stick bentwood. Its a great way to recycle old tarps and keep your planters not from rottening so fast. The Tables I also used plywood and then broke tile for the top. The tile is remmant pieces that are give aways at most tile companys. The best part about this is that you can make it a family project of gathering the wood and being creative, hope you enjoy!

This is a project that I really enjoy building. I made windows in this bentwood gazebo and put old stain glass inside the window spaces there are 8 windows. I also used a antique chandelier and have vintage furniture I re did. I surround the outside with plants and put a copper weathervane on top. Then found vintage planters and plant stands to add to the mix.

The tile can be pick up free at most tile places for they are remment pieces wood is from down trees not rotten, IT best to pre drill holes for screws

This is a great place to enjoy nature or let small kids play or eat ice cream cones in. I made planters on both sides of the arbor and then lined the inside of planter boxes with old tarps then plywood then bentwood sticks. This way it gets rid of old tarps and they work really well for savng the planters from rotting so fast. You can use three cut logs for seat for the inside then use some thick sticks for benchs as well.
