Re-using shopping bags
Saturday, September 02, 2006
I save all of my shopping bags.
Whenever I need a bag, I have one just the right size.
I put cans and bulky trash in them before putting into the trash can, it keeps the trash bag from getting torn. Also messy cleanups go into a bag before going into the trash.
They also make good liners for small trash cans.

Too Much Air Goes Into A Trash Bag
Monday, September 04, 2006 | By Mr. Thrifty
Those tin cans could give you abit of exercise crushing them as well as tearing up all paperboard boxes ,cartons and meat trays Plastic jars and bottles should be made airless. In fact did you know if you do all these things tou could probably thow out a weeks trash in one of those Store bags thus never having to buy tras bags at all. Think Of it building up strength with having to pay to go to a gym.
Just a Thought! Mr Thrifty
Me too and ...

I save them too. At one point, I had so many that I made (scrap) fabric tubes to hold them all (with a hanger for hook or door knob on top, and elastic to hold them in at the bottom). I keep a tube of small bags hanging next to the dog's leash near the front door so I can grab a 'poo-bag' to take with me on walks. & Keep a tube in the kitchen and another in the master bath. (keep 'em where you use them) I line every wastebasket (1 per room) with a store bag. But I use 2 'store' bags to hold dirty kitty litter to make sure there are no leaks. I use the large Wallymart ones for my taller kitchen can. I haven't 'purchased' trash can liners in several years. PS Love your about me picture... is that a lawn mower attached to the bike? Does it work? Love to hear about that!
