Success! at recent fund raiser

Sunday, December 03, 2006

Last night I had a very successful fund raiser for my trip back to Viet Nam.  It consisted of a soup dinner, belly dancing, slide show from my previous trip and a silent auction.  I earned twice as much as I expected thus helping me reach my budgeted amount.  Thank you to all that came, it really means a lot to me.

Now I need to earn more than my previous budgeted amount, due to my free place to stay falling through.  Now I will need to find a place to rent, thus needing a lot more money.  I know things will work out as it is supposed to, so I am not to worried about coming across the money.

I have 23 days left in the states and about 2 more weeks at my full time job!  I am excited to return to Viet Nam but at the same time want to have plenty of time to spend with my friends and family.

About Me:

I recently obtained my bachelors degree in special needs education, cultural studies, dance and sustainability studies (I went to a liberal arts college that did not have majors). I have always wanted to travel the world and had been in the application process to join the Peace Corps until I found Global Volunteering Network. Before I ended up in Vietnam I had never thought of going there but I try to be a spontaneous being and when this opportunity present itself, it felt right and I left two months later.
