I hate my job!!!

Friday, January 30, 2009

A year and a half ago my sister-in-law got me a job with her in her "GREAT company". I was told I would get good raises, great benefits and I will not regret it. Well now I'm here going on my second year and hating it more than ever!!! I been here that long because I was hoping to get a raise soon also my first year I didnt get any vacation since they go by fiscal year but this year I did and now i'm ready to leave. Due to the economy they laid off every single person in the office I am the only one left (there was over 15 people before) There is 4 other guys that come in and out which are production managers. I haven't got a raise since I started working here. Is there a law in california regarding raises???? These guys treat me like I'm their maid I'm a shy person and don't like saying no. Don't get me wrong I am a hard worker but people tend to take advantange since I'm really shy....I don't know how to control it!!! But I honestly can't stay here any longer. However I cannot afford to quit without having another job.but how can I go to interview or look for a job if I'm the only one here? I live pay check to pay check. What should I do?
