Saturday, February 05, 2011
Who is with me on this one. lets try and cut our grocery budget's in half this month and see what we can live on for less!, use up all of the ingredients you in your cupboards and keep the list to a bare minimum . Only restocking the bare necessities EG: milk, fresh fruit and vegetables, add a comment if you are with me on the adventure, and of course if you have any questions! week one starts Monday!

I try to keep my food budget at $40.00 dollars a week. $80.00 would be like a treat for me.
That is great!

Tell me how you do it? Are you incorporating lost leaders, such as laundry soap, and personal items, or is this just food stuff?

Well when laundry detergent is on sale I stock up. When can goods are on sale I stock up. Then I just buy like a gallon of milk once a week or a loaf of bread, and food that's on sale. I only buy when it's on sale, then I just stock up. With laundry detergent I don't use the full amount on the cup. I use half to save on the laundry detergent and I only wash clothes when they look dirty or smell. Sometimes I use coupons because I can get the item for free. You might want to check out the local food pantry. I have done that when money was tight.

Do you know that dog/cat food is included on the freebie sites? My favorite one is www.freestufftimes.com - It might help to send for samples for emergencies -
