Money back bags
Tuesday, June 24, 2008
At various grocery and chain stores where I live in the midwest, for every fabric reuse shopping bag used at purchase you receive 5 to 10 cents back for not using plastic.
Each bag is a nickel or dime that you use for your purchases. On average, since I buy in bulk, I get 50 cents to a dollar off my total bill.
The fabric grocery bags only cost a dollar and I'm going on 7 years with my bags. They are washable.

What a great suggestion...I will look for stores that do this. I have heard that some stores do the 5 cent rebate but I didn't really think about it adding up like that....great tip!
