natural flea repellant
Tuesday, February 10, 2009

Years ago I had 3 cats who were flea infested (no frontline back then).  Someone told me about using Eucalyptus oil on their fur because they would rub it on their hands and just lightly rub on their pet chihuahau's fur before going on a walk.  I had already bathed my cats in flea shampoo several times,  so I put a capful of this oil in 2 gallons of rinse water (dilute) and rubbed it into their fur (They had been bathed enough) as a rinse.  Would you believe the fleas dropped dead on contact.  My kitties still had to get dewormed but WOW that stuff is good!  You have to be careful though that you don't use it full strength, its can be poisonous.  It does smell like Vicks though, strong.

About Me:

I'm an artist, recycler and love animals. My pets were both rescues. Sassette, my 5yo cocker spaniel and Scoots, my 2yo kitty are my best buds. I still like breakdancing, baking, building things, comics, and reading any one of the book classics (Jane Austen, Edgar Allen Poe...etc.), . Believe it, I'm over 40 and still kickin'.
