Blog: Stella in Vietnam

I have spent 1.5 years volunteering and working in Da Nang, Viet Nam. I volunteer in orphanages and work at centers for disadvantaged and/or disabled children, specifically working with children who are deaf. I also work as an English teacher.

Thank You Parents!
Monday, December 11, 2006

Thank you to all the parents who have stayed in contact with me through out their adoption process and after they have returned to the states.  I am so grateful to be in contact with the parents of the babies I took care of for 6 months.  I look forward to being updated about these beautiful children as they grow.  They will always be in my heart.

About Me:

I recently obtained my bachelors degree in special needs education, cultural studies, dance and sustainability studies (I went to a liberal arts college that did not have majors). I have always wanted to travel the world and had been in the application process to join the Peace Corps until I found Global Volunteering Network. Before I ended up in Vietnam I had never thought of going there but I try to be a spontaneous being and when this opportunity present itself, it felt right and I left two months later.
